Honestly unless you can actually back up your claim that any given piece of media is “romanticizing” [bad thing] I’m just gonna tune you out because 99% of the time on this site, “romanticize” means “portray in a way that I personally don’t like or identify with” and that’s not actually a bad thing because People Have Different Experiences.

And by back up, I don’t mean “it makes [bad thing] seem like a good thing,” I mean

–explaining how the piece of media portrays [bad thing] in a favorable light

–what scenes/lines/plotlines specifically contain those portrayals

–why you think those scenes/lines/plotlines portray the [bad thing] in a favorable light

–counterexamples of what you consider to be well-written/respectful portrayals of [bad thing], whether specific (”this piece of media does it well in this scene/plotline”) or hypothetical (”here’s what I would consider a well-written portrayal of [bad thing].)”

@futurecatladies

wait, you mean do some actual analysis instead of hot takes and name-calling wrapped up in jargon that they don’t 100% understand? sounds OOC

I know, I know, am I asking too much here by suggesting that the good people of tumblr dot com should have to actually articulate their ideas and make cases for them instead of bullying and manipulating people into accepting and parroting those ideas? Yes. Do I think those people can and will rise to the occasion anyway? No.

I like this guy
