Yes, fiction does affect reality. However, if people are smart enough, they can distinguish the two things. So there can be a person who likes many bad things in fiction, but they don’t want it to happen in real life, got it?
fiction improves our ability to access the mental states of other people. as what people feel when they read “Lolita”
it doesn’t groom people to be pedo but it make people can understand better about the character’s feeling. the more well made of it, the more we think it’s interesting.
as we see Joker from bat man. you understand, you feel with it. you don’t want to be in misfortune like that
what fiction effect people is… it help reader understanding other people’s complicated feelings deeply and feel with it. sad, happy, satisfy, etc.
in my opinion, fiction improves interpersonal understanding and better empathy which antis kinda lack. it’s skill of understanding something you never did and can be understanding and a bit kinder to the person you don’t know
