@Antis will y’all just admit that you don’t care about protecting people and just need a good excuse to feel like the good guy when being a piece of shit? Seriously, even the many of the survivors are calling you out. Oh, excuse me, the survivors you ignore, even if you happen to be one yourself. Ain’t that some shit?
When I tell people to delete anon hate, to not publish it, it’s not me saying “ignore it and it’ll stop; don’t fight back.” It is 100% petty and spiteful. Honestly, I can’t think of anything better than the person who sent the hate obsessively checking your blog and refreshing and refreshing, waiting for you to reply, and getting increasingly frustrated when the ask they so masterfully crafted never pops up & you just keep posting cute pictures of your pets and talking about how nice your day was.
THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS!!!
We all know what antis are by now; they certainly won’t let anyone forget. If you’re outside anime and manga fandom, though, you may be unfamiliar with the term fujoshi (腐女子 or “rotten girl”). It’s a label reclaimed by women* in Japan who love yaoi and boys’ love content. But antis have no chill. To them, fujoshi is a slur they wield like a weapon in the name of purity culture.
Today’s meta recs are for every girl who loves boys who love boys. Because whether your ship comes from Harry Potter or Haikyuu!!; whether you call it slash or BL, yaoi or just plain gay, you aren’t rotten.
Defining the ‘rotten’ in fujoshi by @rottenboysclub and @freedom-of-fanfic, I think a lot of people complain about the word “fujoshi” because they take the translation of “rotten woman” the wrong way – specifically the “rotten” part. “Rotten” in English has a meaning of “bad” or “shitty” in regards to behavior when applied to a person, and this gives them the idea that fujoshi means a bad or shitty women (who will supposedly go on to fetishize real life gay men).
Fujoshis are just fans of BL by@theassholeantiarchive,So because I moderate this blog a lot of anti fujoshi junk kinda tends to roll into my feed and its always the same argument that antis scream at people. According to them a Fujoshi’s entire existence is dedicated to fetishizing gay men. They look on the street and they see two men holding hands and they scream at them about how cute they are and harass them. They are always straight white women and they see gay men as fuck toys created for them.
If you use fujoshi as a derisive term, you are being a misogynist by @bai-xue, “Fujoshi” literally just means “woman who is a fan of BL.” That’s it. That’s all. It doesn’t mean “woman who objectifies gay men.” It doesn’t mean “straight woman who uses gay men.” It literally just is a nickname for any woman who likes BL manga. That’s it. That’s all.
The problem is not the content or even how you engage with it… by @androgynousblackbox, @shipwhateveryouwant, et al, […] There is a huge different between consuming a product and treat people like objects, wich would be the literal definition of fetishization. Just like enjoying slasher movies is not going to turn you into a serial killer, “sinning” watching yaoi is not going to turn you into a danger for queer people. Not by itself at least.
What does ‘fetishizing’ actually mean when it comes to ships? by @who-gives-a-ship, […] No, writing erotica isn’t a fetish. Anything that is actually about sex is not a fetish, because a fetish is defined as a sexual fixation on something not normally sexual. You can have a foot fetish or a humiliation fetish. You can’t have a porn fetish, because porn is already about sex.
You’re not an anti-shaladin are you? by @lumorie, I’m not quite sure what characters are all involved in the shaladin ship, but you are completely safe here. […] I just stick to one ship per character and would call myself a “single”-shipper (not sure if I made it up or it is actually a term xD) but I would say it’s the counterpart to a multi-shipper!! I’ve made a little guide with my lovely voltron babies.
*Male fans of the genre, who are mysteriously absent from most anti-rhetoric, use fudanshi (腐男子 or “rotten boy”) instead.
To @kushandwizdom this is a rather unfair portrayal of Africa as a whole since half of these are literally just South Africa. So Instead to add to this post and better dispel the myth of Africa as the vast wasteland of poverty most people think, I found a much more mixed collection of pics from various countries.
Luanda, Angola
Agadir, Morocco
Lagos, Nigeria
Cairo, Egypt
Port Louis, Mauritius
Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire
Algiers, Algeria
Tripoli, Libya
Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
Tunis, Tunisia
So, there, a much better case demonstrating the various major cities around Africa showing it isn’t some technologically backwards continent, but actually pretty up-and-coming in the world of commerce.
these look so beautiful omg
Lets not forget the beauty that is Chefchaouen, Morocco;
Absolutely magical place. I visited there over 20 years ago and what was remarkable was how cool the blue walls were to the touch. And the Moroccan people are so friendly and hospitable.
@spacemonkeyg78 this is a shade lighter than the blue I was talking about last summer.
Africa is a whole damn continent and people still have the audacity to think those commercials of mud huts are actually the entire country. it’s not a shocker as Africa is a majority black country and you know how that’s received by white media.
if anything the fact that I’m constantly seeing disagreements among anti-anti blogs on social issues indicates that the community is way more intellectually healthy than antis
and also that supporting fiction’s right to exist as fiction doesn’t really translate into a set of beliefs about the real-world equivalents
basically I appreciate the effort and thought everyone puts into these issues, even when I don’t fully agree!!
Having ADHD makes it so difficult to forgive yourself for the shit you pull cause you never really have a solid reason for what you did. You just sort of guess stuff without thinking about it properly and then forget to check but think you did it “about right” or forget about it all together. Then at the end of the line “about right” turned out be plain wrong and you’re stuck with curtains that are way too short.
