I’m still not understanding who are the real baddies here. When the antis come with studies and other convicing arguments, i just get damn depressed, but then the fandom come with other studies/laws that debunk the other studies, then i feel relieved. But then the antis come with another studies debunking the fandom posts, but then the other side come with yet another posts debunking the antis’ posts. I mean, who is right in all this shit? The fandoms or the antis? Are we shitty people?????

read-a-fucking-book:

This took a while to answer because i want to make sure i say what i mean clearly. First of all, I think its good that you thought about it enough to have doubt. One of the biggest problems with the anti community is the fact that they refuse to consider they might be wrong. And that leads to a lot of flaws in their logic and reasoning. I doubting yourself is so uncomfortable that you cant let yourself do it, you cant think that deeply about a topic. If you actually think about why something is right or wrong a big part of that is going to be considering the other side of the argument seriously and considering the fact that you might not actually be right. So i think one of the best things you can do is doubt yourself. If you let that happen, once you have thought it through you will be much more confident in your beliefs, have more to back them up, be able to understand the other side, and be able to explain why you think that.

Now, one thing to keep in mind when trying to figure out the truth is that just because there’s an article on it doesn’t mean its true. If someone posts an article the first thing you should do is figure out if the publication is general reliable. The next thing to do is actually read and try to understand it. Someone once linked me an article and told me that it said that it proved that people will act out what they read and when i actually read it it was an article about how the act of reading can create new pathways in the brain. So, not what they said at all.

If you read a post and its a study that seems to back up what the other person says, the next step is to look a little closer at the study. Was it done by actual experts? Was it peer reviewed? Are there factors that swayed the outcome, was its conclusion supported by the experiment, have other experts said anything about the study? Just because a study exists doesn’t mean its good. And i highly suggest that if its a  news article you try and read the original published study. News outlets can be kind of unreliable when trying to summarize these kind of things. To get the full picture and not miss any of the nuance, read the original.

So even if the facts are good the next step is to look at how the person is applying it to their point. A lot of times they dumb it down and twist it to fit their narrative so its important to really understand what the study actually said. Just because something applies to one thing doesn’t mean it applies to everything.

Antis also mix together facts and feelings in a very confusing way. So its important to be able to ignore the emotional “its disgusting you would agree if you were a good person” nonsense and just focus on the facts. And after that it really does come down to what you believe. I cant tell you how to figure that out, but as much as ive talked about facts some of it is just going to be opinion. S you have to really spend some time with your thoughts and decide what you think is right and good. How important is personal freedom to you? Do you think people can be evil? Its all those pretentious philosophy questions. So its definitely good that you re willing to doubt yourself because it means you are already thinking of those things.

So in conclusion, fact check, don’t take anything at face value, and just think about stuff. It surprising how many people don’t do these things.

SHOUT OUT TO EVERY FANDOM OF THE WORLD

criticallychlomaki:

critical blogs: having fun, but still being mindful of funamusea and the wrongs in their content

funamusea fandom: UGH all those mogeko critical blogs hate mogeko and everyone who likes it 😡

critical blogs: make some headcanons for fun, even if they dont line up in canon

funamusea fandom: wow erasing characters identities much?

critical blogs: call out problematic people to keep others safe and aware

funamusea fandom: what bullies!!!

critical blogs: pretty much just exist around eachother as a community, joke around, brag about how much they love eachother

funamusea fandom: critical blogs are mean and scary and hate everyone

Even though i’m not totally a critical blog, if you see the bright side of this, this is actually correct lmao.

anyways why do you support pedophilia and abuse!!!!!!!!!!!!!! everyone here is so gross

shipping-isnt-morality:

oh god I’m done I’m fucking. I’m done I’m sick and I’m exhausted and I’m done

Nobody here supports real life pedophilia and abuse.

Antis support bullying creators for depicting it in fiction in ways they don’t approve of. They harbor bullies because they would have no power otherwise.

What are you – I assume an anti – missing in your life that you need so badly to feel righteous about the fiction you consume? Why do you need to feel you have power over people? Antis openly admit that they go after smaller creators because they know that smaller creators will “listen” to them – except that what they’re doing is intimidation and bullying, so what they really mean is that smaller creators are afraid of them.

And you know what? It worked. It fucking worked. Small creators are terrified. Multiple artists have been driven into depression and suicide attempts by harassment that came from antis. Creators who never hurt anyone had their careers ruined over false accusations of pedophilia over a cartoon drawing. Someone got fed needles. Three artists that I know of at conventions have had their merch and displays damaged by people calling them pedophiles or abuse apologists or whatthefuckever because of the completely safe for work art they were displaying.

You’re bullies. You’re fucking bullies and you need to feel powerful so you gang up on fandom creators, who are almost all already marginalized young people, so that you can feel like you’re doing something. But you’re not. You’re fucking not. You can tear down all the queer artists you want, it won’t make a single goddamn bit of difference. YOU ARE NOT HELPING ANYONE.

You’re not. Helping. Anyone.

But you did it, I guess. Artists are scared. People are scared. Small, queer creators are more scared to release content now than they were 5 years ago, because their own community will almost certainly tear them apart like wild dogs.

Great job. Do you feel powerful now?

The funamusea fandom need to see @shipping-isnt-morality blog riGHT NOW.

gelatinadepina:

Sometimes I really wonder what you all, supposed “criticism” blogs, are thinking when doing your “critics” (that at this point just looks like a bunch of you all copying and pasting the same stuff again – some of you didn’t even look at funamusea updates and don’t even know what are they talking- in what looks to be a competition over who is the most salty of you all -Like, yeah We all know what you’re talking, dsp style, dsp repeating stuff, say something new-) And that’s how it all started.

I can’t even believe that I have to tell you all that Dsp is a foreign artist, and sure that doesn’t mean they’re free of criticism but guess what, with being foreign comes something curious you all seem to forgot:

Dsp level at english is poor to pity level.

Dsp doesn’t understand a single thing you’re writing and won’t bother to even try between their constant time at either in a hospital, drawing watgbs manga, living life or watching Godzilla and crying about it.

You all can write your critics all you want, but there’s no point in making them if the artist doesn’t even know about it, about what you see they can improve in their drawing or their content (If that’s what you want that’s it, improvement)

Now, even, in the remote possibility that Dsp was able to understand what you’re writing, then comes another point:

We are in a platform that Dsp doesn’t care about.

Given their story with Tumblr, Dsp most probably have the site blocked, they can’t see your posts, can’t see your opinion or even have the chance to care about it because they don’t even know it exist in the first place.

…If you really wanted a change, you can always mail them in japanese.

But no, you’re writing it in english, in a platform they don’t even look to. And it makes your criticism loss it’s purpose. Now is just a complaint worth coming from a 5 years old spoiled brat about a thing no one around in the tag can control.

And even if you’re venting, the main tag is not your vent blog, be polite with the others, people is searching the tag to share with other fans about the things they still like, not see your 456 complaints and crying.

And now, I have to recognize you all guys, for real. Because you have stayed here even though you hate everything Dsp makes, exposing yourself regularly to a thing that makes you sick and/or bored to the point you have to make a list and scream it to this dying fandom. (Some of you even for more than 5 years holy Jesus, truly hate shrines)…Instead of like…you know…

…Leaving?

You can always stop consuming the content (If you are so done with it like you claim), get away, look for something else that fills your standards and brings you joy.

But You’re still here, a truly devote to Dsp. Ironic that at the end of the day, you’re the most loyal fans of us all.

What kind of life (or lack of one) you have for real. I wish I had that free time to be worrying about what Dsp draws or don’t draw or decide to do or not in their free time.

That or you some kind of fan, one that bring themselves pain by constantly exposing willing to content they hate. Or just a hater that hides under the “criticism blog” shield to don’t show your true colors.

Do yourself a favor and leave, because you constantly exposing to something you hate certainly is not healthy (for those of you who claim about toxicity in the content).

You’re tired of Dsp stuff, and ironically people is also tired of you.

THIS.

xbluebanshee:

I really hate the Funamusea’s fandom here in Tumblr xD EVERYTIME you search the tag there’s people crying or needing to repeat constantly how much they hate X character or X ships and how sick we are for liking it.

Lmao let people be, is ok to have your own tastes but stop trying to make others feel bad.

Believe me, people who likes Satanivlis, Robco and similars, we KNOW that’s abusive, really, is easy to see, but there’s a lot of people who likes abusive/toxic FICTIONAL relationship 😉 zero relation with real life tastes, grow up.

ivliswife:

that god damn side of the fandom need to fuck off, you dont know what others have gone through why they like something in fiction and will say they never would support it irl, bc they wont, and they dont need to tell anyone why they do it for all you know its for coping, witch so many of you say is the only way any of its at all remotely okay and still berate them for it bc ohhh nooooo its not like the themes are already present in the work, your kind has ran too many off of even all known places already, and my heart goes out to them so much, they wanted to have fun, to have something they enjoyed, and safety, ripped away just bc you think they do actually support it? you are the worst, worse than anything ever or ever will be, you people are why an already small fandom is dying and getting smaller and smaller with every moment its not right to bully anyone for any reason you are just being pricks and awful

you are why so many are scared to even ever try it out, to join in on the work dsp makes I wont say I hope you are proud of yourselfs, no if you are that just makes it all the more scummy of you

ya all be fuckin stupid
