Anyway, unpopular opinion, but I still immensely dislike the jokes about “The Straights” because:

1. Being an asshole to people for no real reason is actually really shitty, despite what the wannabe high school bullies on this hellsite tell you

2. The jokes always end up having splash damage on people that aren’t actually straight but are seen as “straight enough” by the hellish LGBT+ “community” on this hellsite

3) Actually mocking people for their sexual orientation – a double standart for a community trying to fight predjudices and discrimination against sexual orientation. No, people with heterosexual orientation are no targeted like LGBTQA-members in real life but being mean to someone online because of their sexuality is a shitty move, and only makes you behaving like an asshole.

4. Straight trans people exist and are lgbtq+

5. And straight cis-passing trans people shouldn’t have to come out and potentially trigger themselves just to not be victims of a stupid joke,

6. It usually results in simply a “power game” to establish superiority over cishet allies, actually willing to help and support the community,

7. It’s politically irresponsible: jokes like that make it easier for conservative politicians who want to paint the community as arrogant, antagonistic harpies.
